We check current prices using Canadian retailer websites, online grocery listings, store flyers, and other publicly available sources. When possible, we compare the same package size and product type across stores.
If identical products are not available, we use the closest reasonable comparison and explain the difference in the article. We also calculate unit prices, such as cost per litre, per 100 grams, or per item, to make comparisons clearer.
How We Choose the Best Deal
The lowest total price is not always the best value. We consider package size, unit price, current promotions, and whether the products are reasonably comparable.
We identify the best deal based on the information available at the time of checking. We also explain important limitations, such as delivery pricing, membership requirements, regional availability, or differences between brands and product varieties.
Price Accuracy and Updates
We aim to keep our comparisons accurate and current, but grocery and retail prices can change without notice. A listed price may also differ between online ordering, pickup, delivery, and in-store shopping.
Each comparison includes the date prices were checked. Readers should confirm the current price at their selected location before making a purchase.
